Intergenerational Programming

Kinder Village has both structured and unstructured intergenerational activities between the residents of Episcopal Homes and the children of Kinder Village.

Our Activities

Coloring & Crafts

We love expressing our creative side! Kinder Village children join Grandfriends for a coloring group once a month to color and share stories about their day. They also have two scheduled craft times per month where children create holiday art work with their Grandfriends from Iris Park Commons.

Music & Dance

Kinder Village kids love to sing and dance! We do a lot of singing and dancing in the classrooms but also have scheduled dance time with our Grandfriends. They join “dancing with Lala” twice a month and singing with our Grandfriends in Katys Cottage once a month.

Exercise

It’s important to stay fit! Mr. Anthony’s fitness class is a very popular activity on campus, and the Kinder Village kids are able to join once a month. We also participate in chair exercises with Paola with our Grandfriends from Iris Park Commons.

Story Time

There is nothing better than watching children listening to stories being read to them! We have many opportunities for story time throughout campus each month.

Puzzles & Games

Ms. Jean from Iris Park Commons does a wonderful job providing games and activities for the kids. To scavenger hunts to bingo- the kids have a great time having fun playing games with their Grandfriends!

Social Drumming

Singing, dancing, and drumming! Grandfriends from IPC, The Gardens, and Katys Cottage join the Kinder Village kids to experience the fun of social drumming!
